STEP 11 – BLADDER HEALTH

broken image

There is a joke about a “nurse’s bladder,” meaning that they have the largest bladders and can hold on for the longest time!

It may be true, but it isn’t a healthy practice!

The term was coined by a Danish doctor in 1991 when his research revealed that 70% of nurses suppressed the need to pass urine during working hours.

This wasn’t because nurses couldn’t physically go to the bathroom or didn’t have the facilities to do so; it was simply because they were just too busy!

But ignoring the need to urinate can, over time, stretch the bladder and cause a loss of muscle tone. It can also lead to an increased frequency of urinary problems, such as infections and incontinence.

Feeling an uncomfortable pressure of needing to void but being unable to can mean that nurses purposely drink less water in order to stop their bladder from filling up too quickly—the less water you drink, the less you pass urine.

But the less you pass urine, the more likely you are to form kidney stones. A kidney stone is a buildup of minerals in the urine, caused by dehydration and accelerated by caffeine and sodium intake.

Kidney and bladder health can be supported through the use of the following Essential Oils:

• Lemon

• JUNIPER BERRY

• Cypress

• Copaiba

• Detoxification Blend

• Protective Blend

• Cellular Complex Blend

JUNIPER BERRY Essential Oil is steam distilled from the berries of the common Juniper tree, Juniperus communis, an evergreen conifer tree that can grow up to 10 meters high and can live for as long as 200 years. Juniper Berry acts as a natural cleansing and detoxifying agent, and supports healthy kidney and urinary tract function.*

PRACTICAL USES

• Add one to two drops to water or citrus drinks as part of a natural cleansing regimen.*

• Apply one drop to promote a clear, healthy complexion.

• Diffuse with citrus oils to freshen and purify the air and lessen stress.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

DIFFUSION: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice.
INTERNAL USE: Dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid.
TOPICAL USE: Apply one to two drops to desired area. Dilute with Fractionated Coconut Oil to minimize any skin sensitivity.

CAUTIONS

Possible skin sensitivity. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas.
