STEP 6 – CHRONIC DEHYDRATION

broken image

When run off your feet on a busy shift, it can be difficult to remember to keep hydrated, but that is the one thing the body needs to be able to perform optimally.

Chronic dehydration can occur when the body is not getting enough necessary fluid over a long period of time. Your body will gradually get used to this dehydrated state and lose sensitivity to water deprivation; so, even though your body needs more water, the symptom of thirst is not as strong.

Chronic dehydration can negatively affect many body systems, causing ongoing fatigue, brain fog, head tension, dry skin, sluggish bowels, muscle cramps, bladder and kidney problems, build-up of toxins, bad breath, and weight management issues.

It is important to try and maintain a habit of drinking water throughout the day. Essential Oils can be used to flavor water so that the desire to drink more is enhanced, together with the therapeutic benefit of the Essential Oils infiltrating and supporting many body systems as they make their way from the mouth to the bladder for excretion.

Essential Oils that can be used to support the body in this way include:
